To add to it, the most important thing is to look at yourself from the viewpoint of an adversary- in this case, a burglar. If you wanted to break in, how would you do it? And don't assume that this only applies to the "traditional" methods of intrusion! Do you arrive and leave at the same time every day? Is it obvious when you're on vacation? You’re spot on, here.
